We’re proud to live and work right here in Central Texas, and we take real pride in helping our neighbors protect their homes, save on energy, and feel confident in the people they hire.

We’re Jay, Thomas, and Ashlyn — a tight-knit family with deep Texas roots and a proud legacy. Our grandfather was Jiles Perry Richardson, better known as The Big Bopper, a 1950s musician and cultural icon who left his mark on music history with hits like Chantilly Lace. While we never got to meet him in person, we were raised on stories of his drive, his charisma, and his impact. His life may have been cut short, but his legacy lives on — and it’s one of the reasons we chose to name our business Jiles.
We carry that same passion for doing things right into our work every day. Our parents also taught us to follow our dreams, treat people right, and leave things better than we found them — values we bring to every job site, every inspection, and every customer relationship.
When we’re not on the roof or helping folks go solar, you’ll find us floating the river, enjoying the Texas Hill Country, or catching a live show (some things really do run in the family). At the end of the day, our goal is simple: do great work, treat people like family, and build something that lasts.

Two words that changed music history—and still echo across generations.
This unmistakable phrase launched the world-famous rock & roll anthem Chantilly Lace and introduced the world to The Big Bopper—our grandfather, J.P. Richardson. A chart-topping icon and radio pioneer, his legacy lives on not just in music—but in the values and energy still driving our family today.
We may not have known him personally, but we carry his name, his voice, and his passion into everything we do.
As part of that legacy, we proudly support local school music programs and student scholarships—donating instruments and funding opportunities for kids who need a stage, a saxophone, or just a shot at self-expression.
Through special giveaways and community partnerships, we aim to give back where it counts—making sure the next generation gets their chance to be heard.
